Diagnosing Vein Disease
Venous Ultrasound is the Gold Standard diagnostic tool used for mapping out the diseased vein in your legs right down to the source of the disease. Many people with vein disease don’t have any visible varicose veins. Many have only the symptoms of vein disease. These symptoms include, dull aching legs, fatigue in the legs, leg cramps, leg swelling and restless legs just to name a few. Ultrasound mapping allows us to obtain a detailed map of the veins beneath the skin. It allows us to find the disease at its source and start treatment at its source.
Many people have visible varicose veins. For them the treatment always should start with a detailed ultrasound study. In fact treating varicose veins without an ultrasound study could be dangerous and most often is doomed to failure.
At Vein Institute of Utah you get a thorough evaluation by Dr. Hadjbian and he will determine if you need an ultrasound before any treatment is started. If you do need an ultrasound Dr. Hadjbian will review your results and all your treatment options with you in detail and personalize your treatment.
What does that mean to you? It means more accurate, safer, longer lasting results.
