Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy

What is Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy?

Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy is a treatment for varicose veins that is an effective alternative to surgery. This technique will eliminate non-saphenous varicose veins without the complications and risk of having veins surgically removed.

Duplex ultrasound has such a high success rate because it guides injections with more precision and is an invaluable tool for treating the harder to locate veins deep within the leg that fuel the increased blood supply to the surface spider and varicose veins. Duplex ultrasound guides injections of a potent sclerosing medication directly into the varicose veins causing them to then collapse and then close.

Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy is often used before treating spider veins because it addresses their underlying root cause and often eradicates the problem. These harder to reach veins are often the resource for spider veins and until the deeper damaged veins are eradicated surface veins will not disappear.

This popular technique is fast becoming the most widely used treatment for non-saphenous varicose veins. It is proven to be one of the most effective and least invasive of all the vein treatments.

Dr. Hadjbian has helped pioneer the advanced techniques of both Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy as a well as Endovenous Foam Treatment in the state of Utah.
